Welcome to Jeanneau Sailboat Owners (JSO) Group

JSO was established in early 2011 by a group of Jeanneau sailboat owners and sailing enthusiasts.  The goal of the organization was to enhance our love of sailing by sharing experiences together.  Sailing, friendship and fun - it is that simple!

JSO had a few simple operational principles:

  • Members are owners of Jeanneau sailboat
  • The organization is comprised of an association of locally established chapters
  • Each local chapter determines its schedule of activites and events
  • Members pay modest annual dues to support administrative functions

Originally co-funded by Jeanneau America, it was hoped that JSO might help local groups of Jeanneau owners organize into formal chapters which could then join and help run JSO. JSO would be the central organizing group collecting dues, running and maintaining the web-site and facilitating communications within and across the local chapters. Although never formalized it was also hoped that JSO might fund “grants” to local chapters from excess dues to help defray the costs of those chapters and their activities.   JSO once hit a peak of 93 members nationwide, it has generally fluctuated between 70 and 80 and, in fact, only the Chesapeake Bay chapter (around 80% of the active members) ever formally incorporated.

The JSO has been officially dissolved as a 501c3 non-profit organization as of December 31, 2018. Each chapter may decide to continue their activities and communications.  This website will be retired on February 28, 2019.
